Beautiful, but...

I purchased this in both the black and malbec (burgundy) colors in the wide calf. I have a small ankle (8.5 inches) to calf (17 inches) ratio. With that being said, I always find that tall boots look VERY baggy on me. These actually did not. I was pleased with how they looked. I will say I did not like that they were cut a little too high (near the knee). It would've been great if they were about a quarter to a half of an inch shorter so they could "stand" up more/better on their own. I tend to have to pull them up periodically to give them more of that "straight" look, but I don't think it's something others notice, it's just a personal preference. I wish the heel was a quarter inch shorter which would make them WAY more comfortable for walking long distances. These boots aren't made for walking/standing for long periods. I do like the "cone" heel. It's more comfy than a typical heel. I do get lots of compliments on these boots! Buy them if you're on the fence!
