This is the perfect gift for any Austen lover.

I found myself reading through it and finding a variety of things that made me smile. Sometimes it was a favorite line from an Austen novels that took me back to my favorite scenes and characters. Then again sometimes it was a personal excerpts from a letter that have access a little deeper into Austen’s character. I found more of a love for her stories and more and more of a kindred spirit in Jane Austen with each reading. This is the perfect gift for any Austen lover.

A delightful gem Jane Austen fans will adore!

“It isn’t what we say or think that defines us, but what we do.” - Sense & Sensibility I often wonder how Jane Austen would feel if she could see how much her works are still beloved over 200 years after they were first penned. Her words are still as powerful, relevant, and inspiring today as they were in the 19th century. This delightful little book featuring hundreds of quotes from her novels, letters, poems, and prayers is an absolute gem for Jane Austen fans. It showcases not only her wit and wisdom, but her deepest thoughts on a variety of subjects. The introduction provides a brief history of Jane’s life and invites the reader to become intimately acquainted with one of history’s most brilliant writers. It’s divided into eight parts: *Love & Longing *Friendship *Home & Society *On Being a Woman *Life, Death, & Spirituality *The Arts, Intellect, & Literature *Good Manners, Virtue, & Vice *A Philosophy of Life Also included is a list of Jane Austen’s complete works and a brief biography of the compiler, Andrea Kirk Assaf. At the end of the book is a Reader’s Journal which provides 30 beautifully framed blank pages where readers can record their own thoughts. I throughly enjoyed reading these delicious morsels. Each quote showcases Jane Austen’s talent & I loved the way they were illustrated on the page. It was fun recognizing those iconic lines from her novels like Pride & Prejudice. “In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.” I also loved discovering inspirational quotes I wasn’t familiar with. Her witty humor, profound nuggets of wisdom, and heartfelt prayers made me appreciate her even more. It’s a beautiful compilation I highly recommend to those who love Jane Austen. I received an advanced complimentary copy from AustenProse and the author. All opinions are completely my own & voluntarily given.

Perfect for Austen fans!

JANE AUSTEN'S LITTLE BOOK OF WISDOM is all the little nuggets of wisdom from Jane Austen's classic novels. It's Austen's poignant words about love and life all wrapped up into a gift-sized book. A perfect addition to bookshelves or as a gift for Austen fans! I am such a fan of Austen and have read her books and seen the movie adaptations multiple times. She so well captured societal norms and relationships while painting the lovely English countryside. I have found her stories and writing to be inspiring and poignant. This book takes her best moments and words and makes them stand out on their own. I've also found that when words are extracted like this that they can resonate more as you relate to them and think about what the author was trying to express. A truly delightful collection and one that will keep a prized place on my shelves and coffee table. It's aesthetically pleasing as well and a cute book. Highly recommended! Source: I received a complimentary copy through Austenprose PR, which did not require a positive review. All opinions are my own.

a tiny masterclass on Jane Austen's talent & wit

“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.” Not to put my own words on par with such a talented author’s, but I would also add that there is no enjoyment quite like reading Jane Austen. And in Jane Austen’s Little Book of Wisdom, Andrea Kirk Assaf has compiled some of the most delightful quotes from this classic author, taking snippets from not only her famous books but also her personal letters and poems. Austen’s wit is clearly seen, especially in the quotes taken from her letters. Like: “Which of all my important nothings shall I tell you first?” or: [On arriving in London] “Here I am once more in this scene of dissipation and vice, and I begin already to find my morals corrupted.” Those and similar lines had me appreciating Jane Austen’s sense of humor and witty timing even more than I had before. But I also gained new insight into her as a writer, as a person of faith, and as a reader. She is one of those rare authors of whom I am always wanting to learn more, and Jane Austen’s Little Book of Wisdom allows me to do so in her own words. There are also copious quotes from her books, many of which wrapped around me in a familiar embrace, the kind of touchpoint that reminds you of comforting moments lost in the pages of a delightful novel. I feel quite confident that no matter if you’ve read every Austen novel or none, you will find a quote on these pages that you recognize and love. Bottom Line: Jane Austen’s Little Book of Wisdom is a tiny masterclass on Jane Austen, compiled affectionately by Andrea Kirk Assaf from the author’s novels, letters, prayers, and poems. Easy to pick up and read in quick snippets as time allows, this pocket-sized book is the perfect gift for any Austen fan or for those who are just now discovering her. I loved the themes and how the quotes were sorted, as well as the added touch of the journaling space at the end of the book. Even at 400 pages, I could have kept reading indefinitely because, after all, “But for my own part, if a book is well written, I always find it too short.” (I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)

Lovey Quote Book

This beautifully written book is filled with quotes from her literary works, letters, poems, and personal prayers. The book is divided into seven different themes each with quotes from her various works. I have found myself sneaking away to read the quotes that were both familiar to me and many that I was just discovering! The format of one quote per page made it easy to read and reflect on. It is simply delightful! This is the perfect book for anyone who is a Jane Austen fan, loves quotes, or enjoys great literature. The small and friendly size of the book makes it perfect to put in a cozy place to enjoy. I have mine on an end table next to my favorite chair. I highly recommend Jane Austen’s Little Book Of Wisdom. I was given the book by the publisher and not required to write a positive review

Celebrating Austen's words

Jane Austen’s Little Book of Wisdom: Words on Love, Life, Society, and Literature By Jane Austen Compiled by Andrea Kirk Assaf Who hasn't heard of Jane Austen? Read a book she's written? Or watched a movie or miniseries based on one of her books? I would hazard a guess that there are few who have access to any of the aforementioned media who have no knowledge of her. I know that my first introduction to Jane Auster was when my great aunt sent our family an illustrated children's edition of this book because it too had 5 sisters whose last name was Bennett. This book would be a lovely gift for someone new to the works of Jane Austin or one who's very familiar with her writing. I love the compact size of this book, it's perfect for slipping into a pocket or a purse, so it is readily available when you need to refer to Jane's wisdom. I found the following quote to be extremely appropriate, "She always travels with her own sheets; an excellent precaution." Having one's own sheets would provide excellent assurances that the strange bed one is using is indeed a fresh change. Though it would require additional luggage, to be sure. For it is, "Better to be without sense than to misapply it..." I love how the various quotes are taken from her published works and letters she exchanged with her sister. These quotes are then divided into eight sections based on the feelings that they project or elicit. Keep this close at hand, it is sure to a conversation starter. I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion. All thoughts expressed are my own.

I highly recommend!

Over 200 years after publishing her first novel— Jane Austen's writing continues to delight, resonate with, and inspire readers. Transcending language, culture, and even time. Her insightful thoughts, opinions, and observations regarding the people, places, and society around her and of course her own experiences of living, continue to prove valuable as she presents them to us (we the readers) through her fiction as well as through her letters and poetry. Her sparkling wit, humor, and vivacity of mind continue to speak to us as we navigate the daily course of our own respective lives. Whatever we seek— be it adventure, friendship, love, faith, inspiration, or some blend of these things. There is always something new to be experienced when reading or re-reading Jane Austen's work. As we continue to grow, change, and evolve as people— Austen's work remains steadfast. As a soft laugh, a comfort, a beacon, or as an enduring literary map accompanying us as we explore the depths, shallows, and waves of our own lives. Although the location, clothing, and customs have changed over the course of 200 years— the foundation of human nature and feeling remain the same. In my opinion, this is the primary reason that Austen's words and work continue to reach and impact us so. I always find joy, comfort, and delight in reading Austen's words. Whether it is visiting with the Dashwoods at Barton Cottage, as Marianne plays us a cheerful song and later speaks to us of art, nature, and poetry, or enjoying quiet conversation and wise advice from Elinor. Or perhaps while we listen as Elizabeth Bennet casts witty barbs at Mr. Darcy for his overly proud attitude and unwise words about "His sense of her inferiority..."! Or as we swoon alongside Elizabeth as Mr. Darcy says "...My affections and wishes are unchanged; but one word from you will silence me on this subject for ever.” "Jane Austen's Little Book of Wisdom" provides hundreds of quotes from Jane Austen! All presented in a beautiful book that is convenient to travel with. The introduction was very interesting to read, the text is printed nicely on high-quality paper, and the front and back covers as well as the spine are a blend of lovely shades of Yale Blue, Spanish Blue, and Cerulean along with beautifully understated gold accents. I loved reading this book and will revisit it often! This book will appeal to many readers. It is a great book for any Jane Austen fan! Whether you have loved her books for years or are just discovering your interest in her work. I highly recommend this collection!

Would make a cute gift!

Jane Austen’s Little Book of Wisdom: Words on Love, Life, Society, and Literature, compiled by Andrea Kirk Assaf, is adorable, yet stylish. At nearly 400 pages, the book is thick, but remains compact. I can fit it in my purse. As expected, Jane Austen’s Little Book of Wisdom showcased the wit, depth, humor, and intelligence of this beloved author. Included quotes came from the entirety of Jane Austen’s works – novels, letters, prayers, juvenilia, and poems. Eight sections divide the quotations by topic. One of my favorite Jane Austen prayers appeared on page 92: “May we now, and on each return of night, consider how the past day has been spent by us, what have been our prevailing thoughts, words, and actions during it.” A wise word, indeed. I noticed that a handful of quotes repeated partially or in full at different points in the book. Perhaps my favorite part of reading Jane Austen’s Little Book of Wisdom was trying to place the quotes within their respective stories and scenes. I recommend Jane Austen’s Little Book of Wisdom as a gift for Jane Austen fans. Disclosure of Material Connection: I was provided a copy of this book by the author or publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.
