A must read!
I rarely write reviews about books on Amazon, but I felt compelled to for this one. This book is full of scientifically-based ways to sharpen memory, but what makes it truly standout is how Dr. Braun presents the material so it is easily accessible to the reader. Various worksheets are offered at the back of the book and each chapter ends with Top Takeaways. We also follow "Meredith and Lou", two people who learn about the strategies and discuss how they have been able to implement them in their life. The excerpts with Meredith and Lou make the book engaging and highlight the usefulness of the techniques offered. I regularly work with trainees, and this is a book that I will now be incorporating into their training as an example of how to present research-based information to patients and ensure high quality clinical care. I honestly cannot recommend this book enough.

High octane brain
Dr. Braun has written this outstanding book to help people optimize their brain health and memory and in turn, aid in reducing the chances of getting Alzheimer's disease. I am a practicing Internal Medicine doctor and Alzheimer's dementia is a very challenging condition to treat and the current treatments we have are only modestly effective at best. Therefore, this book is very timely and important in outlining steps to help reduce the risk of getting Alzheimer's disease, which currently is a progressive disease with no known cure. Dr. Braun provides detailed steps in how to maintain a healthy brain and optimize memory function. She writes in a style that is easy to understand and is backed up by evidence-based research. She also provides many examples of real life people and what they are doing to help optimize their brain function. These are fun to read and very practical in terms of things a person can start to implement right now in their own life. The audience for this book would be for any adult who desires to keep their brain functioning as well as possible for as long as possible.

Excellent from Primary Care & family perspectives
As a practicing Internist, I find this book to fill a critical void in literature that helps both the patient and especially the families of patients with dementing illnesses. It is enjoyably written with patient scenarios and informative discussions. It is amazingly both authoritative yet engaging, comprehensive yet bite-sized, and appropriately light hearted yet sincerely respectful of this delicate topic. Thank you for this excellent resource I can happily recommend to patients and their families.
