Amazing

Amazing machine. I can’t believe how much this bread maker changed my life. I just add the precise ingredient as the booklet says and enjoy hot bread. Indians love their roti everyday, but my hands are starting to hurt a lot. This is the next best thing.I make one loaf every afternoon to use it early in the morning for breakfast and lunch.

INCONSISTENT RESULTS. DIFFICULT TO CLEAN. SMALL

You just never know what shape the bread is going to come out. First two loaves were small (1.5 lb) but looked and tasted good. The last six loaves I've made, however, were lopsided and twice the tops had craters in the center. The suggestions for these problems (use less water, less yeast, etc.) aren't effective, and the container in which everything gets layered and mixed is too small. Washing the basket is easy, but the inside of the machine is a nightmare to clean. Ingredients stick and bake onto the sides and bottom right away, so I couldn't return the thing, even after just two uses. When it works, it's not bad, but "not bad" isn't saying a lot, is it?

Easy & Convenient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was impressed how easy the Hamilton Beach Artisan Dough and Bread Maker was to use straight out of the box. The directions were easy to follow to clean the item prior to the first use. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was such a wide range of breads and dough it can make as well as jam!! I love making quick breads and it had a setting for that! Now I can just dump my ingredients, set the machine and forget it until it is done. I tried a basic white bread to start and it was quick and easy to set it up and walk away until my bread was ready. The bread came out clean from the non-stick pan and the family loved having homemade bread for the week! The only issue I had was that there are two pages in the manual that have the numbered settings you select for the type of bread/dough/jam you are making and those two separate pages didn't match up completely in the numbering. I picked the wrong setting and ended up cooking my first quick bread as a sweet bread. The bread was still tasty, but had more of a dense cake texture. Now I just remember to double check the number setting with the easy quick access guide on top of the machine lid!
