Great for Beginning Cozy Readers!

This is a fantastic bookclub book or a book to dip your toe into the pool of cozy mysteries. You don't have to be caught up on the all of the author's series to enjoy the short stories in here. This was a fun read to have to the #spooktacularcozychallenge that I helped host on Instagram for the month of October. I recommend it.

Halloween Cozy

Halloween Party Murder is a three story book. The authors are Leslie Meier, Lee Hollis, and Barbara Ross. All three mysteries will put you in the Halloween spirit. They have you guessing to the end. There is family, friendship, and a tad of humor. They are well written and easy reads. I was given an ARC by Kensington via NetGalley for an honest review.

Three Fun Cozy Reads

A wonderful collection of three stories by a great group of authors. In the first story the newest residents to town hope to help raise funds for a local charity by turning their home into a haunted house. Lucy is looking forward to writing a story about the upcoming festivities. When one of the hosts dies from a drug overdose and her spouse is accused of murder Lucy decides to dig deeper into the incident to make sure the right person is being charged. Will Lucy be able to figure out just what happened that night or will a murderer stay free. In the second story Hayley is throwing a Halloween party and all the guests are dressed up, ready to party. Things are going great until one of the guests is found dead. Hayley can't have such a horrific event hanging over her head so she starts to investigate. Who would have wanted to kill Boris and why. Hayley begins to look into all of her guests to figure out who had it in for the man. Will Hayley find a murderer or will her event stay tainted. In the third story three teenagers are enjoying a sleepover when it is crashed by some older kids looking to party. When an elderly woman is found dead in the backyard dressed like a ghost the young girls are shocked. Julia's niece was one of the girls and she hates that she saw such a sight. Julia decides to look into the death and see if she can figure out just what happened that night. Will it end up being an uninvited guest or someone much older and more devious. I so enjoy the shorts and being able to catch up with favored characters while longer books are being plotted.

Three Great Stories

I usually try to stay away from novellas and in-between books because I never end up liking them. These are three series that I really like and this time I really enjoyed the stories. The Lucy Stone one built on the one from last year (these characters don't show up in the regular series) and I felt that maybe this could have been expanded on and made into a full book. I'm always a fan of Lee Hollis' stories and seeing Hayley flourish in her new career makes me happy. I also liked the direction the Barbara Ross story took. It was nice to get more about Page and her friends. I can't wait for the next full length adventures in each of these series.

Spooky

This book brings together three wonderful authors. I love Leslie Meier and her Tinker Cover series. Following Lucy Stone and her family is always a treat. However, in this tale comes a trick. When the Moon's turn their home into a haunted house, things go well until Heather is found dead. Will Lucy be able to clear Ty before he goes to jail? Lee Hollis brings out to Hayley Powell's party where each guest is dressed as their favorite character from a horror movie. However, when one guest is found dead, it is Hayley who must find out how and why and by whom? Will she be up to the task? In Barbara Ross's tale, three teenage girls have a slumber party on Halloween. When high schoolers crash the party, one of the tenants is found dead in the backyard dressed as a ghost. Julie Snowden must find out who would kill. All three stories were spooky but fun. I love when authors take part in these style books. It gives the reader three wonderful tales to read. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.
