Hi there, We are sorry you are disappointed with your cookware purchase. We do our best to provide the most accurate descriptions and care instructions for our products. Cast iron requires a little extra care and knowledge to function at it's best, as it is not inherently nonstick. Cast iron requires "seasoning" after each use for cooking ease and to prevent rusting. This involves baking the pan in oil or shortening and wiping down the pan with a paper towel and more oil after every use. Cast iron pans should never stay wet for long after washing to avoid rust and you should avoid using soap or steel wool on seasoned cast iron as that will strip the seasoning you've worked so hard to maintain and will also speed up rusting. You can use water and coarse kosher salt for a little extra help with cleaning out excess food. We hope this helps!

Very nice cast iron fry pan
Nice fry pan, I gave it 5 stars because I knew it was not really seasoned properly to start with. After I cleaned and seasoned it properly it looks great and should outlast my grandchildren if taken care of properly.

Solid
For those of you who say it rusts..., Don’t wash it, instead look online and learn how to care for cast iron cookware. Then make an educated review.

Great Skillet! Exceptional Price!
First, I will tell anyone who is looking at this skillet to purchase immediately. Ignore the negative reviews!!!! I don't work for Macy's but I have to say that it appears that the negative feedback comes from folks who do not know how to take care of a cast iron skillet. I use my cast iron skillets to make southern cornbread, to fry fish (fresh fish), to fry chicken etc.... THE BIG PROBLEM with the folks who left the negative reviews appears to be that they do not understand that a cast iron skillet of any brand has to be seasoned with vegetable oil after every washing or it will rust. Wash and dry it by hand. No dishwasher! This is a CAST IRON skillet.... solid to the core, not a non-stick flimsy "teflon"coated skillet. There is not a cast iron skillet on the planet that won't rust if you do not season it after washing.

I don't know what to say about it
Is it good to cook with because I put on the stove with water and the water turned brown and I kept repeating the same process ant it kept doing the same thing. I soaked it last night and this morning the same brownish water.

Bad buy returning it right away!!!
I just made this purchase and as soon as I got it by mail I used it on the next day to grill fajitas. I washed it and the next thing i've notice that it got so nasty, so rusty, no matter how hard I washed it I want my money back!! I always known Macys store is about quality and they shouldn't be selling these type of junks.
