Greens are good for you but cleaning them thoroughly to get rid of sand and grit can be tedious. This salad spinner makes it so much easier. Greens and herbs can be washed and soaked, then drained and rinsed as needed before spinning to remove the water. This has a retractable pull handle that makes spinning a whole lot of fun, and a stop button that stops the spinning quickly and easily. The nonslip base keeps the salad spinner stable on the counter while the balanced basket spins smoothly for less wobbling. The clear bowl lets you watch the spinning action and can be used for serving or for storing in the refrigerator.

Worked great! Until it didn't.....

I got this a couple of months ago. I loved it!! Then the little green cap fell out of the lid. I glued it back in. Now the whole white/green plug assembly won't stay in. If I'm VERY careful, I can still use it, but after spinning I have to search my salad for the white/green plug that came out. I love how here is no center "plunger" like other types, but I wish it was robust!!

Excellent Salad Spinner! Careful though.

This has worked very well for me for about a year, but the other day I pulled the cord too hard and it broke and there's no way to fix it. HOWEVER, as you can see from the other comments here, goodcook was quick to replace it. I got it in about a week. I have promised them that I shall be more careful in the future. I was pulling this thing like a lawnmower pull cord, but that's really not at all necessary.

Cord broke!

I am disappointed the cord broke, so I can no longer use it as a salad spinner. It would be great to be able to purchase the lid with cord only.

Decent Spinner

My husband bought this instead of the push-lever spinner I wanted (thanks to our distribution problems). It is pretty easy to use, but not as easy to estimate how many servings of greens I am preparing as our previous spinners. The pull-cord also does not spin the basket as quickly as the knob-type of spinners; the first time we used it, the lettuce did not get dry. However, it is easy to use, and the clear lid helps us judge how well we are doing. The hard plastic needs to be supported when pouring out the soak-water. The flat top makes storage much easier than with our previous spinners. I have not yet used it to soak beans.

If I could give it negative stars, I would.

DO NOT BUY! It broke the third time I used it. The cord is in tact, but when I pull it, the spinner no longer spins; it makes a grinding noise. Unlike the OXO brand, this one does not come apart to be able to fix it. I wish I would have read reviews before purchasing.
