Came back to Godiva with high hopes.

I bought some Godiva truffles for the first time in years. Godiva was always my favorite chocolate since I was a kid so I decided to pick some truffles up as a treat. It was a very disappointing experience. The quality of the chocolate has really suffered. Definitely has a waxy texture and the flavors were very bland and way too sweet. Godiva has definitely tweaked their recipes here and there which have added up to a bad chocolate experience at a premium price point. However, this is not an uncommon thing in candy. A lot of manufacturers have swapped out their premium quality ingredients with a lower quality. I have always held Godiva as my gold standard. There are much better big chocolate companies out there like Ghiradelli who still put out a good product. I would recommend to anyone to spend some time and find a local chocolatier in your area. So many great people putting out amazing chocolates at the same price point as Godiva. You won't regret it.
