Important Book on Blood Sugar Research

Glucose Revolution is a not a diet book. It's not an exercise book. It teaches you how to eat with certain hacks that will enable you to keep your blood sugar level. The first part of the book explains the background of the author, how she began medical research, and her personal experience in testing blood sugars. Then she moves on to explaining the science of why this is important for health. Her book contains testimonies of people who are Type 1 diabetic, Type 2 diabetic, and just average people who are not diabetic. The last part of the book shares ten hacks that she suggests that have been proven to keep your blood sugar more stable throughout the day, leading to greater weight loss and higher energy levels. Someone of them will make sense (like don't eat sugar on an empty stomach but as a dessert) and some of them will be surprising (like add vinegar to your diet through drinks or salad dressing). The author explains the basis of every single hack. it is not just based on personal experience but research and experimentation. I blew through this book. I read it in one day. I found the author's story riveting and her story changed our life as she explained her experience depersonalization. This put words to something one of my children had been trying to explain to me which lead to a diagnosis of concussion that had happened five years prior!! I am personally so grateful to this author for sharing her story even though it did not directly seem to relate to blood glucose. We have already started applying some of the hacks to our family life because I have seem signs of out of control blood sugar in myself and my kids. Something as simple as changing the order of the foods we eat has made a big difference just in the last week. I highly recommend this book! I think everyone who is concerned about health and longevity should read this. Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
