Inconsistent fit

I went to the store and tried on a size 7, but it felt tight. I decided to order a size 7.5 online, just in case I also ordered a size 8. When the size 7.5 arrived, it was wide and loose, so I didn't even try on the size 8. It's a pretty shoe, and I'm disappointed it didn't work out for me.
