Beware! This runs very small!

I bought this dress from Free People and had to return it. It seems their sizing is all over the place. Usually I wear a small in their clothing line, but I had ordered a Medium and it was still very small in the chest/rib cage area. I would need a Large.

Adorable dress; not typical fit for Free People

This dress is so beautiful - lovely detailing. Love the button up front and mixed print; very well-made. But as other reviewers have mentioned, the sizing is not typical for FP, due to the fitted bodice. I wouldn't say it runs small in general, but it runs small for FP, which is usually way oversized. I wear a solid 8. Usually I have to get an XS in FP. But this dress required a S. If you have a chest (I don't), shoulders, or are more mature vs. being a slim 20-something, size up from your normal FP size. The S was still a bit snug, so I tried a M as well. The bodice wasn't a whole lot looser, but the rest of the dress was too big. So S worked best for me.

Love love love this dress!!!!

I wore this yesterday with Lululemon black leggings and Vince camuto leather boots and it was sooooo cute! I’m always a small in everything free People and had to get a size large in this. Runs very small.

Don't Buy

This is horrible. I'm always a FP large. I couldn't get this any where near buttoning. Either it was miss marked or it's just awful. Returning asap.

Delightful Dress!

This is a wonderful dress -- the patterns on it are amazing and the design was very well thought out. I purchased a size small, as it fit my shoulders the best and the length of the dress and sleeves were just right for me. The chest area was a teeny bit tight (I am petite, 5" 3", 112 lbs., 34 triple D bra cup size). The chest area of the dress is not intended to fully cover breasts of that size, so I will wear a thin black camisole underneath the dress -- perhaps one with a bit of black lace! I am SO happy with this dress. The fabric is very comfortable, too!

Perfect!

I don’t know why there was a person who said the dress runs small. I’m 5’2, about 108 pounds, bought a size small and the dress fits me perfectly. I can button all of the buttons.

This dress and fabric are prettier in person. Free People does run large so follow the suggested brand size chart

Cute but way too small!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I Purchased the small and the medium. I couldn’t even button up the top button I’m the medium. It was so tight against my chest. Very surprising as Free People normally runs very large.
