Good product with some flaws

We ordered this bed recently got one delivered. It was strong and looks sturdy but below are some of the issues we have seen. The description says it doesn’t need a box spring but it needs one. The bed smells horrible for first 1 week and smell seems to last until 1-2 months. We are trying to open windows during the day for air flow and also not closing the bed room door during the night.
