Don't miss Evermore, the first book in Alyson Noel's #1 New York Times bestselling The Immortals series. Enter an enchanting new world where true love never dies... After a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom can see people's auras, hear their thoughts, and know someone's entire life story by touching them. Going out of her way to avoid human contact and suppress her abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school - but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste. Damen is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He's the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head - wielding a magic so intense, it's as though he can peer straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she's left with more questions than answers. And she has no idea just who he really is - or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is that she's falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.

Having a really difficult time staying into

First off, I had read this book a long time ago. I didn't remember it much and had given up on book 2. I decided I wanted to give this book another try. Well truthfully, I can see why I had given up on book 2. Damen is this supposedly perfect guy. Doesn't seem to have any flaws besides the fact that one day he all lovey dovey to Ever and than the next he is out with Stacia and the mean crew. He is great at answering questions. Great at art. What isn't he great at? Oh not to forget to mention how HOT he is and how EVERYONE fonds over the guy like he is the last piece of the best brownie there ever was! Just seems too good to be true right? Well, truthfully I think EVERYONE should have some flaw or something they just can't do right. And honestly, it just makes me disinterested when I read a book where the guy or girl are just too perfect. Just something I def can't get myself into. I also wasn't a fan of Ever's friends. Miles was alright but Haven was obviously a backstabber. She got really upset with Ever when Damen crashed the party with a costume that matched Ever's that her aura instantly turned to hatred. Honestly, I can see being a little upset over it esp when Ever can't ever just tell the truth of her feelings and always lies...It's just that whole drama was pathetic to me. If you're friends with someone - real friends - I can't ever imagine getting this upset over a guy. I just really didn't like that Ever was trying to push her own feelings back for a friend like Haven. And the thing that made this book a 1 star is the fact that I never particulary liked Ever. I did feel bad for her but i just for the life of me could barely read it due to how her thoughts and emotions were. I imagined if I thought i killed my family in a bad accident I def wouldn't be all googly eye over a guy. At least not as quickly the book described it. The fact that she started feeling jealous over every little thing he did and even wanted him to just kiss her during that halloween thing...It just didn't fit the storyline well. At least not to me. Granted this is just my opinion and I'm sure some people actually enjoy the story and all but for me it was just bad. It was poorly written, plot was just not entertaining enough, characters need better development, and overall just not a book series I would recommend.
