Out of ordinary color palette
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited that Chanel put out a more out of ordinary Holiday color palette. I loved the way it looked on the model and that's what sold me on it. It's quite pricey but it will last for years. It can also be used as a blush. I also think that all the colors outside of the shiny white one could work throughout the year with clever application. I couldn't resist trying it myself because of the look on the model but honestly if I didn't see that just by looking at the colors I would have probably decided to go with something more main stream Chanel. Still, the quality is great. I did wish they included a brush for the price.

Love this palette! Gorgeous colors & texture.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this palette. The colors and texture of the shadows are amazing. I use them primarily for my eyes - but they can also be used as a blush & cheek highlighter as well. You can make the color as light or dark as you want -- depending on how much you apply. I keep it light during the day -- but apply more for the evening - especially the white silvery shade - for a more glamorous & glitzy look. The palette is bigger than I normally like -- so it isn't as easy to carry around in a purse as a smaller palette. But I still love it. And since this is a limited edition palette, I've purchased a second one for when they run out of stock.

Great palette
If you had your colors done and can wear clear warm or cool colors, you're not too old. I'm 65, not surgically enhanced, light olive skin, blue eyes and brunette hair. It's amazing. Each color goes on semi-transparent, not clownish. You can build it up, but you don't have to. The silver color is fine silky glitter resembling new fallen snow. Apply it gently with your finger to your brow, lid, or cheeks. A little goes a long way. The pink, plum and coral make great blushes too. Search for makeup tutorials online to help you choose your favorite application method. This looks great with a glossy pink, coral or red lip.

Conflicted. Topper is VERY sparkly
I'm conflicted about this E/S & blush palette. The colors for eyeshadows are a bit off the beaten path for mature faces. You need to be careful using the pink shades to not look as if you've been crying or had an allergy attack. They do work quite well as blushes. The copper shade is intensely metallic and is good for highlighting the middle of the lid. You must blend these all well or they can come off as clownish. The white topper is probably too sparkly except for the most dramatic uses. I've put it on top edge of cheekbones and at the inside corner of my eyes. Both uses, at least for me, require lots of blending and toning down with some matt power. I suppose if you're in your 20s-30s, this isn't an issue. But if you're a "woman of a certain age," as I certainly am, this palette requires a more-deft hand than you might expect from other Chanel palettes. All in all, had I paid full price, I'd likely have returned. As it was, using cc credits, etc., it's worth playing with further.
