design flaw?
I just received the Dyson V6 Mattress yesterday. Now, I have read all of the reviews and none has expressed the issue that I encountered. So this issue may only be reflective of my particular model. I have not discussed this with Dyson, but I am sure they will correct it if in fact I am right. First let me say that it is a well built piece of equipment with excellent suction. It was not, however, designed for heavy work or extended use. MY exception is with the motorized mattress tool. When attaching it to the machine, after it locks in with the click, there exists a gap that allows for pet hair and fine particles to escape. Imagine my surprise when I first saw with my eyes and felt with my nose hairs the debris coming through that minute gap defeating any HEPA filtration intended {thus the three star}. The only solution I found was to push down hard to eliminate the gap, which worked. However, on the backward pull, it is a little tricky pushing down and pulling back in the same movement. I should not have to over exert to accomplish a simple task. I am sure this was not the intended purpose. The flaw may well be with the motorized mattress attachment and not the machine. Needless to say I am not 100% ok with this.

Can't go wrong with Dyson.
This is my go-to hand vac for everything. It would suck up my 100 lb. dog if he could fit the opening. Love it.
Fabulous machine!!!
I bought machine in Nov. 2015 and wish I had another for upstairs. I have dogs and you would not believe the dust and hair it picks up!! I also have allergies and find it really keeps the dust down.

Must have
This is my 3rd Dyson Product, and using my Stick and Pet vacuum still. This mattress cleaner is amazing and I can attest that it does suck up all the dead skin (gross) on any furniture surface. My porch furniture and deck furniture was SHOCKING! Had to empty the bin....embarassed to say how many times. If you are concerned out cleanliness and the hygiene of your furniture and mattresses, this machine will make you happy. I want to go next door and do my neighbour's sofa now..its addictive.

Great little sucker!
Hello all. I have just opened and used the product for the first time. So far it is great! Some people have complained about the battery dying within 5 minutes and I believe its because when you first start the vacuum its already in max setting. So you just have to click the max button to go back to regular settings. People have also complained about not having a bag to hold the other tools in. This is true, I do wish Dyson would offer a bag to hold all the parts for storage but in the meantime, there is a bag with the instructions book and it can be used to hold the tools. See image attached. It has a slot to wrap your fingers around and its seal-able. Other than that, I have a husky that sleeps on my bed and leaves a lot of her furr behind, and this vacuum has done a great job cleaning up after her and I expect nothing less in its future.

Strange engineering design decisions
V6 Mattress is generally good, and I'm going to keep it, but it has some engineering decisions that I really hate. 1. A battery cannot be easily removed - you have two unscrew two screws for that. When you open a centrifuge machine to empty a dust container, fine dust spews around the opening, so it's a good idea to remove a battery before opening a hatch in order to clean/wipe dust around after it's emptied. Unfortunately, you cannot remove a battery easily. 2. A centrifuge machine is not removable unless you apply special skills to pry special pins. Than centrifuge machine collects a lot of fine dust that is statically glued to side walls over time. I used to flush a centrifuge machine with water in my DC31, but you cannot do it for V6 Mattress, and by the way, since you clean your mattress from dust mites and their waste, side walls of the centrifuge machine will be eventually covered in dust mites and their waste. Isn't it a good idea to flush a centrifuge machine with water??? 3. Sometimes I need to chase spiders and their nets with vacuum, so an extension wand would help with this tusk, but guess what, the extension wand does not fit V6 Mattress by design because it would be a chipper competitor for expensive V8 cordless vacuums.

Response from Dyson
Hi there, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on the Dyson V6 Mattress. I am pleased to hear you are satisfied with some of its features and sorry to hear of the concerns with rest. The battery on the cordless is really not meant to be removed. However, can be removed by removing a set of screws. We do not recommend removing the battery over and over as this can strip the screws and screw holes over time. When emptying the canister, we recommend doing so with a trash bag around the canister to limit the fine dust that may fly up into the air. We do not recommend using water on any of the parts of the cordless except the filter and canister. The canister can be separated from the cyclone and rinsed under water. The handhelds are not meant to be used with a wand like the cordless machines which do come with a wand and floor tool. We would value the opportunity to address these concerns in more detail and any other questions or concerns you may have. Please feel free to contact us at askdyson@dysoncanada.ca and include your name and contact information. We look forward to hearing from you. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Canada Customer Service
