Filthy-Unable to clean

These napkin rings were nice enough BUT they were FILTHY when I got them. Tested them out with our napkins and they left black stains on them. Did everything I could to gently clean them but my napkins are a cream color and no matter how much I cleaned them they kept leaving dirt rings.
