Great little machine

I find that I'm using my vacuum sealer for all kinds of things. I peeled my ginger root, cut it up and packed it, it's in the freezer and ready to go if I need it. I've packed stakes with some seasoning and out them in the freezer, when we thawed and grilled them, they were excellent! I've even used the sealed bag in a water bath in Sous Vide style poaching. Today? Sealing up gift size servings of freshly made peanut brittle. I love it!

Not as useful as I hoped

great machine if you are not planning to seal anything with moisture like meats, veggies or fruits. Suction is so good that it pulls liquids to the seal line which makes it impossible to get a good seal. Only option is to freeze first and then seal. Getting out machine, cutting a bag etc is just too much hassle and I find myself using a Ziplock and just forcing out the air for small jobs.

this is a helpful machine to keep foods fresh and with the high prices that we pay for groceries, this allows for packaging large quantities for future use. all the various features makes it easy to use!
