Why have a heating element under a thermal carafe?

I really like my new coffee maker. My only question is why have a heating element under a thermal carafe? Otherwise, it makes great coffee, it's fast and the coffee stays hot in the thermal pot. I am a self-proclaimed coffee snob and like really good, fresh black coffee.

My second one: An enthusiastic customer!

I had this one's predecessor for eight years before it stopped working and was very happy with it so didn't even look at other brands. I love this in nearly every way, and especially appreciate the addition of the bold feature. It's minor but my one criticism is that the brew, program and auto features are on a switch that must be moved three spaces each time to switch from my morning programed coffee to my afternoon coffee. I'm a bit concerned about it wearing out but time will tell. All in all a great product!

Frustrating coffee maker

Directions are VERY difficult. VERY HARD to see the markings on the maker itself.

Waste of money...keep shopping!

This is the worst coffeemaker I've ever had! The carafe does not keep the coffee hot. Instructions states to run hot water it the carafe prior to brewing which totally defeats the auto brew feature. The outside is a royal pain to try and keep shiny....the water spots won't go away. Don't waste your money on this one....

coffee pot

When the power goes out, so do the settings. Everything has to be set up again. The pot does not keep the content hot for very long. After 1 hour, it starts cooling down.

Great coffee maker with thermal carafe

Brews quickly and makes great coffee. East to fill water reservoir and easy to auto program. Takes minimal counter space. One of the brew buttons always stays lit- a bit annoying.

Coffe Maker Domination

By far one of the best coffee makers I've ever purchased. Of course the brand is a signature brand but the size, easy to store no mess, and the edgy look for a coffee maker is perfect. Worth the cost!

Prefer hotter coffee

I have owned a number of Cuisinart thermal coffee makers. The last one was a 12 cup and brewed a much hotter pot of coffee. I looked for this coffee maker but apparently Cuisinart doesn’t make it anymore so thought I would try this one. I am a little disappointed with the coffee temp. However, it brews a pot of coffee quickly.
