Product Details
Web ID: 630860Great value
This model is a great updated version of the early model made by Cuisinart. My original Cuisinart lasted many years. The new version is a great toaster as a value.

Needed this footprint on my countertop
I choose this toaster because of it's style. I needed a long, narrow toaster for a small space. Form: Check. However, Function has been a variable. Example: the toaster setting needs to be adjusted for bread slices vs English Muffins. Not a big deal. The width of the opening isn't quite large enough for a Sara Lee bagel, requiring a little trim or slight smooshing of the bagel. (It's a word!) The length of the opening isn't quite enough to accommodate 2 slices of a a slightly larger slice of bread. Not an issue for a small household but could be a problem if you have more than 2 or 3 in your home who like to eat *warm toast with breakfast. Lastly, the toaster has a beep when the toast is ready. If you are standing next to the toaster quietly sipping your favorite beverage you will likely jump out of your shorts. If you are busy doing other things while waiting for the toast you will appreciate the feature. 4 Stars.
Uneven Inadequate Toasting, So Returned
Toasting proved to be sometimes uneven and not dark enough even on the highest setting, so reluctantly returned. Unfortunate because really liked the single long-and-wide slot, the sleek metallic design, and the counter-saving footprint. Note that the two beeps to indicate toasting is complete are a bit too loud and screechy and could certainly wake sleepers.
good but not great
Bought this Cuisinart to replace a Kitchenaid longslot toaster I'd had for about 10 years, but the Cuisinart doesn't begin to compare to the quality of the Kitchenaid; nor does it perform nearly as well as the Kitchenaid. First disappointment with the Cuisinart is that the slot is not long enough to hold two slices of bread; unless you use the standard size (but bad for you) white bread. Also can't get consistent toasting - sometimes barely toasted and other times overly brown using the same setting. Cuisinart owner's manual says this is because of different moisture levels of different breads, but I experience frequent inconsistencies from the same loaf of bread, and sometimes have to toast the slices a second time to get them brown. Also a blue light stays on all the time (heating elements are not on) which tells me its wasting electricity by keeping some function on or in a standby mode. Another potential problem is the motorized lift - rather than toast being lowered or popping up by spring action as do most toasters, a small motor in the Cuisinart lowers and lifts the rack up and down - when done there's no "pop", just the sound of the motor slowly lifting the toast up. My impression of the motor is that it sounds weak and will likely fail long before the heating elements fail. Will likely return this Cuisinart toaster if I can find a more reliable long slot toaster. And would definitely return it for another Kitchenaid if they still made a longslot toaster.
Love this toaster!
It has a sleek, attractive appearance. Saves room on my cupboard. The electronics are accurate.
My search is finally over!
Looked high and low and found the best toaster! One long slot, space saving, perfect toast! Easy to use, great design and not a bunch of money!
Returned
Returned to store. Toaster slot/well is not deep enough even for regular store bought bread. Does not toast top of bread slices. Also cannot fit two slices without overlapping. The toaster looks very well made and attractive, but if you cannot toast the top of the bread slice it 's useless.
finally - a great toaster
have had 3 toasters in the past 14 years, but none lasted, none made good toast, so thought i'd bite the bullet and spend more money this time. This cuisinart. is one cool, nicely designed, quiet machine. not only that, it makes good toast! and when the toast is ready to remove from the machine, there's one little ping. I love it,
