I Hate This Vacuum
I’m so disappointed with my first Dyson vacuum. It’s heavy, clumsy, and every time I use it I get into a fight with it. I don’t like this vacuum at all. I have a German Sheppherd, and need to vacuum my couch almost daily, but I dread using the vacuum because the hose for the attachment is so stiff that the vacuum itself constantly falls and I’ve developing shoulder issues from using it. I also am extremely upset that on the first month of using it, a quarter got stuck on the attachment extension and I can’t get it out and haven’t been able to use it properly which I cannot believe a quarter is just big enough that it went in, but I can’t get it out. The suction is also too strong for my rugs, but I do like how strong it is on the bare floors. The ball will not allow you to vacuum under couch, bed or any furniture. I have to get down on my hands and knees. I love cleaning, but the overall experience is very unpleasant and so I have to get rid of this vacuum and get something else.

Too much suction
Works great on hardwoods. Terrible on carpets. Sucks so hard you can’t move the vacuum if it’s anything other than a super flat carpet. Should be able to regulate the carpet height and suction power of the vacuum but you can’t. Super expensive and ultimately worthless.

poor performance, not durable
I am a Dyson loyal customer and have many Dyson Vacuum cleaners for multiple locations. I wish I would write a good review but unfortunately this one is a big disappointment. I have cats and dogs and use vacuum daily. This Ball Animal 2 is not designed to withstand daily cleaning, non stop clogging, brush had been replaced three times and continues malfunctioning, accessories brakes attachment is falling off each time, the tube is not durable, cheaply made and won't last long. The Dyson Ball Animal is not designed with quality and durability. Too many problems and flaws, unfortunately. Very disappointing! Perhaps it's just good for sterile appartment without animals and little dust. I wish designers would give it proper attention to design true quality durable vacuum for animal lovers.

Used to Love Dyson Until This Vacuum
I previously had a Dyson vac that worked great with zero issues for 10+ years. This vac is falling apart. I have to manually hold down the switch to activate the beater bar while vacuuming. Just using the vac without the beater bar being activated will not pick up dog hair. It's awkward to vac while holding down the switch manually so the beater bar rotates. This is the 3rd Dyson product I have purchased, and it will likely be the last. If I'm going to have to purchase a new vac every 1 1/2 years, I may as well purchase a less expensive brand.

100% DISFACTORY
I expected more of this dyson vacuum. Sunction is a thing of the past and bristles that are supposed to sweep up the dirt simply shake them up a bit. I love the dyson design, it's a fine german design, however it is not as functional as it should be.

Not for carpet ???!!
I liked my 1st Dyson animal so well I purchased a 2nd one when I needed to. Worked great on the original carpet we had in the house. When we replaced that carpet w/something that has slightly higher pile it failed miserably. You have to push/pull against the suction. I was told repeatedly when contacting for assistance that the vacuum is not meant for carpet! It's too powerful! Then why do you advertise: Powerful suction across carpets and hard floors with Ball™ technology for improved maneuverability Upright vacuum cleaner for all surfaces powerful suction with Ball technology Trying to use this now is painful - literally. My shoulders and back scream at me when I do. This is an expensive product and should work as advertised or be replaced w/something that does. Dyson should correct their advertising to reflect what they are going to tell you later when it doesn't work properly.

DO NOT BUY...
..unless you never track in dirt, or open your windows to bring in dust. We purchased this vacuum several years ago because we have multiple dogs and live on a dirt road-we have regretted it since day 1. I have to sweep before I vacuum every time because it clogs so easily. The power head has such a high profile it does not fit under cabinets or furniture and gets caught on EVERYTHING. It will not move over the transitions between floor types unless I pick it up. Even with brand new filters and a cleaned canister you can see the dust & dander floating in the air after vacuuming and my husbands airways close up.
