Amazing Bed and Service

After 13 years I decided it was finally time to update my daughter's bedroom. Her only requests for the bed were that it be a light wood color, have a headboard, and be simple and modern in design - the solid wood and storage features were something that I was personally looking for. When I came across this bed on macys.com I immediately thought I hit the jackpot. It ticked all our boxes and, although I'd never purchased such a substantial piece of furniture online, I decided to go for it because I loved the design so much. Scheduling the delivery was very straightforward and simple. Additionally, the white glove delivery men were prompt, timely and so efficient. First they moved the existing bed into the adjacent guest bedroom and then they hauled all the pieces upstairs and built it in about half an hour. After they left, my daughter went to pull out the drawers and one of them wasn't properly on its tracks. After fiddling with it for a minute she realized she didn't want to do any damage to the new bed and called the delivery guys less than 5 minutes after they left our home and asked if they could double back and take a look at it. They were so kind to come back and fix it for us and even explained how to get the drawers back on the tracks should they fall off again. The bed is heavy and strong and looks every bit as great in person as in the photos. My daughter's previous bed was a platform bed with a six inch ledge all around it so the border on this one didn't cause her shins any trouble. Likewise, she is only 5'1 so, coupled with a 14" mattress, the shorter height of the bed doesn't affect her either. She loves how it looks and I love the functionality of the deep drawers for storing linens and bedding. Overall I had an exemplary experience purchasing a bed from macys.com. The whole process, from placing the order to signing off on the delivery, was easy and reliable. If you love the way this bed looks in the photos, I say go for it! The price and customer service from Macys is unbeatable.

Worst experience ever with Macys Furniture

My husband and I purchased this entire bedroom set, including a brand new mattress to furnish our newly purchased home. A very large purchase/investment for us, since we are first time home buyers. We ordered the set in store with the help of very friendly/helpful staff. We waited for 4 weeks, approx. to set up our delivery date, which was expected. However when our bedroom set arrived on March 30th, 2018, there was no hardware to build the bed. Therefore we had to sleep on the ground on our new mattress to wait for a week for the hardware to arrive and set up a 2nd apt for someone to come build the bed. Hardware arrived, set up appointment to build the bed, but once it was assembled, I was informed that the Bunkie Boards that were delivered with the bed, did not properly fit our bed frame, they will need to be returned and there was also no bed slats delivered with our bed frame. As I write this review April 27th 2018, my husband and I have continued to have to sleep on the floor, on our new mattress, as we wait for an answer from Macy's corporate on an answer/solution to why a brand new bed set was never delivered without the necessary parts for us to safely sleep on our bed frame. There is a certain expectation of when you invest in this large of purchase that you should have a wonderful experience with Macys and customer service.

LOVE this bed!

I am thrilled with this purchase! The bed is beautiful and solid! I have two little boys, and this bed stands up to their constant activity. The fact that I don't have to worry about pet fur and dust collecting underneath it is a huge bonus. I have bumped my shins on the edge of the bed a couple times, but nothing that detracts from my love of my bed! :)

Get ready for some sore shins

Once a week I run into the ridiculous overhang on this bed. The photos don't do it justice probably because that's an oversized mattress. The foot sticks out farther than you'd expect, after a lifetime of walking around beds that don't have protruding edges. It always hurts, it usually bruises and sometimes straight up wounds. Don't get me wrong, it's a quality bed. Solidly built, the storage is nice, I like that it removes the need for a boxframe and thus keeps the mattress low to the ground. The storage is great, the shelves are still so smooth to operate four months in. But every. single. week. I run into this. Coming back from the bathroom half-asleep? BAM, down I go. Rushing to get ready in the morning, my peripheral vision sees the covers but not the wood edge: WHAM. Carrying a laundry basket to put away clothes in the drawers: have a nice TRIP. I'm not some big clutz either. I don't trip over my own feet, or fall down stairs, or accidentally miss my mouth when drinking a soda. I just have years of ingrained habits of how to judge safe walking patterns around a bed, and this thing with its beautiful wood that seems to perfectly match our wood floors defies all my instincts.

Well made, but very close to the floor

I like the bed. It does what it is supposed to do and provides superb storage space. The only drawback I experienced is that if you don't use a box spring or raise the mattress, it is far too close to the floor. If you don't have a bad back when you buy the bed, you might get one unless you raise the height of the mattress or purchase a very thick mattress. That is my experience, you may have a different one. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the design - something I knew when I purchased it.
