As of today I have a little more than 50% tank of black ink and between 50% and 75% on each of the colors from the original installation. The printer has stopped printing. Completely. It does not even print what I just scanned on the printer bed.

Better options for the same price
ive had this printer for awhile now and at first i thought it was great. Now a bit over a year out and the thing is just dead. For some reason the color printing is all messed up and not working correctly. I’ve tried all the cleaning options, ran test pages, flooded the nozzles. Absolutely nothing seems to fix this clog, or whatever is going on. Really disappointed because I’m not even halfway to finishing the ink in the tanks and have spare bottles of ink as well. Kind of annoying that obviously better printers seem to be available for the same price range with better capabilities and better specs. Cant even resell the thing to recoup some money since its just broken junk now

Setting up you printer
I thought the set up instruction were awful. Be prepared to spend more time than you would have thought was reasonable to install the print heads and ink tanks. The instructions were useless to me. Thankfully there were a few YouTube videos to make up for Canon's lack of clarity in their instructions. I did encounter another problem when I put special paper in the front tray for printing. I got an error message saying that the rear tray was empty. Again, after searching the internet and not being successful I tried regular paper and the front tray worked fine. Reinserting special paper and the error happened again!!!. After re-checking and more frustration It seems that you have to be VERY CAREFUL LOADING SPECIAL PAPERS IN THE FRONT TRAY AND MAKING SURE THAT IT IS "FULLY" INSERTED INTO THE FRONT SLOT. Other than that the printer works well even if there is not illumination on the front dial.

STAY AWAY
This is a great printer when it works but it has serious flaws, the least of which is that the message window is very hard to read and, worse, is generally unhelpful. The manual assumes everything is working well. The system itself is overly complicated and it takes the patience of a Buddha to deal with an operating problem. STAY AWAY.

Not easy to use
This printer is very hard to figure out, there are times it just does not print, other times it automatically goes to the rear feeder. Its way too complicated to use.
