Soft close door latch stuck. Broke at 1 year
I really wanted this microwave because of the mute button and soft close. Shortly after 1 year of gentle use, the door would not open. Tried reaching Breville for weeks, they never responded. No service center available and there is no replacement apart. My son painstakingly took it apart and tried to fix it, but to no avail. Lots of you tube videos show the same thing. Really disappointed! Will never spend the extra money on a Breville product.

Good to use, intuitive controls, soft-close door is excellent!
It’s hard to get tooo excited about a microwave oven but the Compact Wave Soft Close is intuitive to use, heats food well and is attractive imo. The soft close door is actually very good to use and as soon as the door is opened any beeping stops (top marks just for that feature!).

Lots of great features
This microwave is an replacement as our other one broke during its warranty. Really like the microwave for its size, can fit our large dinner plates in it. Also the quick 30 second feature is good. The soft closing door is the 1st microwave I’ve ever had it on and it’s another great feature.

ZERO stars, ZERO
Cannot open the door after the cooking cycle ends unless you press the "unlock" button. If you want to open the door during the cooking without the extra step, go right ahead. But once the microwave finishes cooking and the microwave beep beep beeps, then you MUST PRESS THE UNLOCK FIRST BEFORE OPENNG THE DOOR. Stupid Breville, really dumb.

2nd replacement
my first one stopped working not even 2 months later and I rarely used it, my second one does not heat too well needs longer time even for small amounts of food.

Great UI, No Reliability
This microwave had exactly the features we wanted: compact, enough power, and quiet. I don't know why other companies think their microwaves need to wake up the dead when they finish cooking, but this is a refreshing change. The dial and button interface is very well thought out also. Unfortunately ours died after 17 months of light use. Microwaves typically last decades in my experience. Just garbage.
