Wanted to love it… :(
I bought this same model last year and after using it a couple times, the sound was awful. Bose was great about sending me a new one. However the 2nd one had exactly the same issue after just using it 1 time. I have multiple Bose products and have never had this issue. So sorry this didn’t work out for me.

Fails Under Extended High-Volume Use
I am extremely disappointed with the Bose Smart Speaker 500. After using it at high volume for an extended period, the membranes of both speakers tore, rendering the speaker unusable. Since it’s beyond the 1-year warranty, there’s no option for repair or replacement. It’s frustrating that a speaker designed for music enthusiasts cannot handle high-volume usage without the membranes tearing. This reflects poor design choices, as a premium speaker should be able to withstand extended high-volume play. I expected much more durability from a product like this, and I’m very dissatisfied with this purchase. It's frustrating that a speaker designed for music enthusiasts cannot handle high volumes for extended periods without breaking. This issue makes me question the durability and thoughtfulness of the product's design. A premium speaker should be able to withstand high-volume usage, and this failure is simply unacceptable. I expected much more from Bose, and I’m left feeling that this purchase was a waste of money.

Great sound, poor linking
Bought a second bose 500 to pair with our first one. They do not like to connect for long, dropping out and being a really frustrating experience. The app doesnt help either, being unreliable. Come on bose, alot of money spent and doesnt work properly??!! SORT IT OUT.

Poor Bass
I expected that this product, being Bose would have reasonable bass but did not expect that the bass would start rattling/cracking at modest volumes. Very disappointed!
