Weird Herbal Smell

I have used this brand for many years and when I moved to the States it is not close to the department stores and did not know that Macy's represents them so stopped for a time. Now when I purchased the face cream it smells like some herbal medicine. Has the cream gone bad or they changed the combination. It is a very unpleasant smell.
