Pretty stone, lightweight setting

The stone is large and the color is gorgeous. The setting is ok but very lightweight. The band is narrow, so the size seems a little larger than it is. It seems thick enough to hold up to everyday wear, however. The scroll work is cute but tiny - the setting looks better in the photo. The ring arrived without any inventory tags. Also, it wasn't in a clamshell box - instead, it's in a slant-top magnetic box that will allow air in--hopefully the gold plating will protect against tarnishing. My friend thought it was really pretty and thought the scroll work was delicate but nice. We both agreed the ring was worth buying on sale with that amazing, eye-catching blue topaz.
