This is a repeat purchase. Our previous Vitessa just died after 2 years. My wife desired another because of the smooth, non- metallic surface and very tolerable weight. Took 1 day to obtain the new iron ! The price is right.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this version because it's retractable cord. The if made from some type of cheap plastic. When you press the button to retract does not go all the way in. You have to pull it several times before it goes in.

Black & Decker Compact Steam Iron

This is a replacement for a B & D iron purcshased 10 years. THE IRON RECEIVED DOES NOT HAVE THE CORD REAL - LIKE THE PREVIOUS ONE.

Disappointed

Been using for 4 months. Takes long to heat up and for steam to be produced. It also shuts off quickly if not being constantly used. I'm a quilter so I do not use it non stop, there may be several minutes between ironing. Upon using today, heat was very intermittent and I need high heat and steam for pressing seams. All in all, not that pleased with this iron.

Really nice iron

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had never used a steam function on an iron before, truthfully I was always scared to burn whatever material to a crisp or something if i had to use steam!... BUT, this was a flawless first use of a steam iron, I had no real difficulty setting up, learning how to use it on different clothings, and so far I have had excellent results without putting in any major effort!

Makes Ironing Enjoyable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never been much of an ironer (not sure of that is an actual word). Mostly, because I am inpatient and ironing takes so much time. Just the entire setup from waiting for the iron to warm up, setting up the ironing board felt very time consuming. However, after using the Vitessa Advanced Steam Cord Reel Iron, my entire perspective has changed. There is a setting for all types of fabrics, which helps take the guess work out for me. Since it is summertime, I find myself needing to iron denim shorts that I have. They are "vintage" style, meaning they are cut off at the legs and after washing have strings/fringe at the bottom. Some of these shorts are supposed to fold at the bottom. After they are washed, the fold disappears. To get the fold back, I place my shorts on top of a towel on the kitchen table, plug in this iron which heats up quickly. The non stick plates allow me to iron the folds without affecting the fringe. The touch button retractable cord allows the iron to move with me as I iron with no resistance. The entire process literally takes less then 5 minutes. This iron actually has me excited ro iron other types of clothing!
