[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited when I received notification that I was getting a SurfaceSense Lift Off Upright Vacuum from Bissell in exchange for my review through the BzzAgent program. I had been feeling extremely frustrated with my current vacuum, and this was the perfect opportunity to try something new that HAD to be better. I was surprised at how quick and easy it was to get this vacuum out of the box and ready to work! A couple of parts snapped into place, with directions anyone could follow. I like having the light on the vacuum, including on one of the attachment tools. I also find it much easier to get the tools angled properly to clean underneath furniture -something I could not seem to do with my other vacuum. However, the part that clips the wand into place when not in use prevents it from reaching underneath a lot of things. Creativity only helps so much. I also find the vacuum to be a bit heavier than what I am used to, but it's not too bad. It moves nicely from rug to hard floor without grabbing the edges of the rug, which is unique. This feature is meant for use on low-pile rugs, and if you want to clean your plush carpet well, there is a setting for that. The vacuum is a bit loud, especially when transitioning between floor types. The biggest flaw I found was in emptying the canister. It's like you need a tool to get the stuff at the top out, unless I am not seeing how to take another piece off to get it from the top. You get your hands all nasty and dirty emptying it, and because it is hard to get the dirt and hair out, it affects the overall performance and is probably why this vacuum already smells bad. I really wanted to love this vacuum. There seems to be a common flaw in the design and testing of these products, not isolated to Bissell - the people doing these things probably very rarely use a vacuum.

Great vacuum cleaner for pets
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used several different brands, including the dyson and None has compared to the solution for pets that this vacuum has provided.. I'd love the upholstery attachments and how it does get all of the pet hair off of the furniture very good section

Great products and great customer service
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my vacuum and put it together, but unfortunately during transit it must have gotten broken as my brush wouldn't spin. I tried every troubleshooting available on the website, to no avail. I called the customer service department and within 3 business days I had another brand new vacuum and this one worked perfectly! I couldn't believe how light and easy it maneuvered, plus it cleaned up so much stuff I'm actually appalled at how my previous vacuum preformed. I totally recommend!

This has been a game changer! Deep cleaning dream!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is made by a trusted company Bissell! I have used their steam cleaners for years but had not used their vacuum cleaners. This model is lightweight, and what a plus for cleaning stairs and landings. It just glides on carpet and hardwood floors. The bright light makes it so easy to see and appreciate what a great job the vacuum is doing. You will be shocked how much more dirt and debris was left from your previous vacuum after using the Bissell. The suction pressure is very powerful. The attachments are very efficient and work great to reach difficult areas. Texas is known for its mountain cedar and high level of pollen and combined with my 2 large dogs (Irishdoodle and lab/shepherd mix); I am happy to say that my allergies have improved with use of this vacuum cleaner. This vacuum has been such a game changer for deep down cleaning!

This really sucks: in the best way!! No sweat.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the functionality of my new SurfaceSence Bissell. When I was done vacuuming for the first time I felt like I had a new carpet. The way it moves from rug to carpet and even hard flooring is impressive. The few features that are missing because of how it lifts up mean that you don't get a retractable cord and the way you need to step on the base to begin vacuuming is al lil old school and can be tedious. However, it swivels and gets edges normally unexplored, by other vacuums, with ease. All the attachments are useful and well thought out, the light on the long attachment helps you not miss any corners or cobwebs. The pet brush is powerful and fun to use. The suction brushes are in a clear panel so it's easy to see when there's too much hair or anything else that may get stuck. And the ease of the lift off feature was genius in seconds I was able to clean all the dust from the vents in the bathroom. I call that my no sweat feature. I am excited again to do chores again. And would recommend this in a heartbeat. Did I mention its so quiet that my dog doesn't get anxious when it's time to clean the carpet anymore. Super like the SurfaceSence Bissell.

High quality and "smart"!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ah, vacuums. There are so many options on the market...fancy brands, cheap brands, and everything in between. As far as vacuums for your main floors go, I've owned several: old-school bag-based upright vacuums (think Hoover brand from back in the day...), a mid-range Shark canister vac, a fancy and heavy Dyson upright, two Bissell Pet Hair Erasers (one w/Turbo Rewind feature and one w/a wrapped cord), an awkward Dyson ball canister vacuum (the one that kind of drags behind you as you hold the wand...a literal ball and chain), and now this Bissell SurfaceSense Lift Off Upright Vacuum. Upon opening the box, the SurfaceSense Lift Off was packaged very nicely. Everything was protected and yet easy to unpack. As a Millennial gal with arthritis, this ease meant a lot! The protective packaging: sturdy cardboard, completely recyclable. Not much plastic at all. This vacuum was very simple to assemble - unlike a Dyson. Instead, stuff just made sense and clicked together nicely. I was skeptical that this vacuum would actually sense a change in flooring - so I gave it a whirl and pushed from my carpeted living room, straight to the linoleum kitchen floors. Whadda ya know, it actually sensed the change in surface and adjusted automatically! I've never had a vacuum do this before and continued to go back and forth between surfaces. Super cool and I didn't have to push any buttons or switches at all! Aesthetically, it's nice looking and high quality. Definitely not as heavy and cumbersome as a standard Dyson upright, but it's not as lightweight as a cordless vac. The SurfaceSense is substantial without compromising maneuverability. The brushes are housed in a swivel-based head that also features a row of several LED lights. Suction is excellent, too. The only thing I'd change is the cord: make it retractable rather than wrap-style.

Pet owners rejoice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free so to review honestly. I have a rabbit I live with in my home, she parties hard and leaves a mess of pellets, hay, poo puffs, hair for hee maid (me) to clean up. This Bissell is amazing at picking it all up without complaining. Hay generally gets stuck in most vacuums hoses but not here, pretty much every strand was waiting for me to dump easily out of its holding cell. Anything that couldn't be rolled over went through handheld hose without effort. And plus rarely scared the bunny.

I'm quite amazed at this vacuum
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To start with, it came in a box, not put together. Putting it together was the hardest part for me. I went to Bissell's sight as suggested, but could not find a video to help me set it up. Once I got the set up figured out, I was in love! The vacuum is much lighter than I expected it to be, and much, much quieter. It seemlessly goes from carpet to hardwood and is easy to maneuver and push. The suction is the best that I've ever experienced from a vacuum and it doesn't blow the dirt out of the back. I was really impressed with how easy it was to remove the canister to vacuum the stairs. It felt like a no brainer, it is really well designed for that. No more gymnastics trying to get the stairs vacuumed! It did an excellent job picking up not only the cat hair, but picking up my very long hair as well. Emptying and cleaning was much easier to do than with other vacuums that I've owned, and I didn't make a huge mess doing it! Allergies have been high around here because of dust, dander, and pollen. My partner and I noticed a difference after the first time that I vacuumed with it. No more drippy noses and itchy eyes. I received this product in return for an honest review. The only downside was the initial set up of the vacuum. Once that was done, the rest has been a really satisfying experience! I highly recommend this to people with pets or with dust allergies! It's a great vacuum!
