Larger than the measurements provided

The actual measurements are 16 inches wide, 12 inches tall and 7 inches wide. This tote is several inches larger than the measurements provided and too large for my needs. It is, however, a very nice looking tote. I am wondering if the measurements are inaccurate for the smaller tote bag, maybe I will order that and find out.
