Doris Kearns Goodwin is one of the most extraordinary histories alive, and in her first ever Children's book she brings to life her Leadership in Turbulent Times to a younger audience. Centered around "her guys"; Lincoln, Johnson, and both Roosevelts, Goodwin shows how these important historical figures got our country through difficult time. The book features wonderful artwork and side notes to further explain important dates, people and events that shaped our country over the presidencies of these four individuals. Never has an historical kid's book been written with such passion, awareness and eagerness to excite kids of all ages. Plus, as your child reads along with this edition you can read her book Leadership and discuss each part as you go along. What a great was for families to read and share together.
