Very nice, super cute but sizing is off
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this coat in pink for my 17 pound, female Westie. I ordered sizes small and medium because we are going on a trip and I wanted to be sure I got the right size for her. The color in the pictures online appear to be pale pink but in person it’s more of a dusty rose pink or similar to mauve. Unfortunately the small is too small for my dog and the medium is way too big for her. Westies generally fit into the medium size category but not in this coat. The small might fit a 12-15 pound Westie. The medium size might fit a really large Westie, 21 lbs. or larger. It definitely doesn’t fit the average size (15-20 lbs) Westie.

The coat of a happy dog: Designer & chi approved!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased two: pink for my lady dog and green for my gent dog. My female chihuahua is extremely picky about her clothes. She has anxiety and limited patience for dressing that can result in growling, a flash of fangs, and refusal to proceed even if she has only one leg out of the sweater. She loves her barbour coat!!! The velcro closure on the neck and around the waist keeps her willing to dress when there is a chill outside. Because there are no leg holes she is willing to walk longer and without protest. She is comfortable and warm, which makes me happy. She is a slim long 5 lbs and wears the XS; her rear end is exposed out of the jacket so I will see how she feels about me stitching in a skirt ruffle. My male chihuahua is 7lbs, shorter in length than the female, has a robust doggie chest, and a thick coat around his neck. He is quite handsome! He required the the size S because the velcro in the neck closure barely touched in the XS. In his size S, the jacket fully covers his rear end though is not too long as to inconvenience tail wagging. He is truly between sizes, though needed to size up due to closure length only. The absence of fabric around the belly is what I prefer for a boy dog because because there is nothing to get caught in the pee flow. I never know how high that leg will lift, or if he is going to do a handstand pee which will soak the average sweater. I know, he has talent. They both like their coats more than a standard sweater. They look very sharp!! Both the outer and inner fabric very nice and the quilting is just right for colder fall days. With the belly area open I do not worry about them overheating as they burn up dog energy on longer walks. I do make my own dog clothes mostly, though I bought this coat because it meets my own personal design standards. Oh, and there is an opening under the collar to attach a lead. I have dressed a harness under the coat and over the coat; both work fine.
