Beautiful;can’t find anywhere for my little girl

My 8yo has struggled with self acceptance due to her eyebrows (& a gap toothed smile) which look exactly like this dolls (& similar to Kahlo’s). There is a lack of indigenous or certain Latino /ethnic looks in dolls/media. My daughter loves poetry, Freida & I want her to love herself as she is. I’ve been looking for this doll FOREVER so my baby girl will stop idolizing everything that’s not her. I’m so grateful that Barbie is starting to recognize true inspiring women like F. Khalo , rosa Parks etc

You need it!

I got this almost a month ago,and when I was looking at it online,I was a little worried that the hair would get messed up,but I've had this for a little less than a month ago,and it still isn't frizzy or messed up!The doll is fantastic and I am so glad that I got this!

Frida Kahlo---Wonderful Doll!!

I just got my Frida Kahlo Barbie. She arrived on Halloween--how appropriate (since it's the day before the "Dias de los Muertos"). I absolutely LOVE her, she is beautiful and she was worth the wait. I was an odd child who never wanted a Barbie when I was younger (I'm now 62 years old). I wanted a real doll---Barbie was plastic and not handmade, so I revolted. NOW, I love the designs and costumes and the imagination the dolls exhibit. I'm an artist and use the old worn out dolls for assemblages.

Frida Kahlo

This barbie is pure beauty, it has captured the greatness Frida represented for women, especially Mexican women. I proudly display this at home in a class case with a painters chair and easel. This is my absolute favorite Inspiring women series Barbie Doll. Your team has gone above and beyond my expectations.

A step in the right direction

I would love for Mattel to create Frida 2.0 and recreate Frida's image to include her disabilities such as her uneven leg lengths due to Polio and even a possible back brace due to her horrific accident that forced this woman to become a fine artist. Had she not been exposed to these tragic events in her life, she most certainly would have completed her goal of becoming a doctor. Since the doll is geared towards young girls, I understand that Frida's image is limited to her physical attributes rather than her complex and complicated life. This is why including Frida's physical disabilities could really make a difference and inspire even more young girls. That being said, I do own the doll and overall glad it was created, but as a Frida aficionado I would love to see her represented in a more authentic light, because she herself was authentic to those she knew in life.
