Questionable recipes

Just bought this book today. Tried the coffee cake recipe. It instructs you to put batter into a 9 inch cake round. Seemed like too much batter but I tried it anyway. Needless to say, within 10 minutes of cooking time, the batter is overflowing all over the bottom of my oven. I had to put a sheet pan underneath to catch the rest of the mess. I am not happy!!! If you are going to sell a $35.00 cookbook, make sure the recipes are correct.
