The WORST custard making batter recipe book ever

I tried to make a Taiyaki recipe with this cooking book. I was so excited … oh boy i was wrong. I followed the recipe but as i went to cook the batter, it was extremely thin, and the directions said to ‘microwave’ the custard. as i followed that the custard was extremely chunky WHO THE HELL MICROWAVES CUSTARD???? As i cooked the little taiyaki fish it looked extremely uncooked, even when the outside was brown it tasted raw. dont even get me started on the custard. the custard tasted like uncooked pancake batter. I might get a virus from this Taiyaki recipe, i don’t recommend buying this cooking book.

A Tasty Anime Treat

If you love to bake and anime this is definitely a book for you. You are introduced to a variety of bakes from Japanese desserts to desserts inspired by anime, even some that are non-Japanese. The recipes are well written and the pictures beautifully display the end results. I will say that the recipes were in depth and on the harder side but I've learned with baking if you follow a recipe precisely things tend to turn out better. I tried a couple of the recipes and they weren't perfect but were tasty. I look forward to improving upon them and trying some others. The anime included was a wonderful variety and will definitely speak to those who love the genre.
