Smoke damaged headboard received

I’m usually happy with the quality at macys but not with this headboard. It has a very strong smoky smell. Up close after several days, it still smells like some kind of smoke or chemical affected it. I’m unwilling to have this in my home, particularly next to me as I sleep. If they don’t take it back I will be out the purchase price but this is unacceptable and if not, after 55 years I will be done with Macys.

Arched Headboard

Good-Looking Headboard

This queen headboard is pretty and is reasonably priced, but I have two issues: 1) it doesn't fit my bed frame, so it has to rest against the wall, and 2) it arrived damaged. I contacted the seller and submitted photos of the dented box and ripped back of the headboard, but they have not rectified the situation.
