Very good quality leather and construction. Fits well. I prefer this burnished copper colour compared with the more popular walnut colour because I feel that the darker brown makes it more versatile and the burnishing gives the shoe more depth and complexity. These shoes are quickly becoming one of my favourite pairs to wear.

The Classic English Bench-Made Shoe
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wonderful craftmanship that accents the Scot-Irish, peatbog patina with its darker cap-toe and the brogued hind quarters, which stand out against the burnished midsection with its subtly lighter hue and give these sturdy yet supple leathers a warm, antique veneer, like an old mahogany leather couch in an English country house. I love how they fit and look.

The quality matched the reputation
I'm impressed with these shoes. From the design to manufacturing, these have impressive quality. I bought this pair with a matching belt for my wedding and I received numerous compliments on the style and color. In terms of fit, the size seemed to run slightly narrow, but after 10 hours of walking, standing, dancing, and once or twice breaking into a jog with them on I can confidently say they are comfortable.

Returned Twice Due to Poor QC
I returned these due to poor QC. The stitching was terrible and right on the edge of the welt so I returned these at the retail store in Atlanta, GA and reordered the shoes. I was then sent the exact same pair of shoes from the Atlanta, GA store again, so I returned them again and gave up. It is such a shame that this once great and respected American brand has strayed so far off course.

Continued Quality Control Issues
It seems that quality control issues continue to be the rule rather than the exception. I’ve been forced to return multiple pairs of shoes over the past year for various quality issues ranging from streaking and striping in the finish, poorly punched broguing, inconsistent pinking and most recently the stitching on the welt being right up to the edge on a pair of Strand’s.

Fit and finish is perfect.
Love the Strand Cap-Toe Oxford. Well crafted and the fit is true to size. I normally need a few days to wear in, it was no different with these. They are easily the most comfortable shoes I own now.

Well constructed shoes.
This is my second pair of the Strand. The pair I ordered (cigar color) has an odor before and after wear, inside the shoe. Not sure if these shoes were in storage for some time or they were just slow moving sellers. There was no indication that the shoes were worn before, but I never experienced this before with Allen Edmond shoes
