Great blocks set!

A great blocks set. I love that it is wood, not plastic. The colors are bright and cheerful. I gave it to my 7 year old grandson for Christmas. He wanted to play with it right away. My grandson is having so much fun building with it. There are a variety of shapes, so he can be creative. I do suggest gifting a storage container with it. There are a lot of pieces that busy moms don't want to pick up after.

Good choice for imaginative and creative play.

My 4 year old grandson loves to play with blocks and this set has so many pieces that he creates towns and villages covering the entire play space.

Perfect for nostalgia and the babies.

I *love* this set of blocks--it is almost exactly like the one I remember playing with at my grandparents' home when I was little. The intended recipient hasn't had a chance to play with it yet, but we had another visitor (7 month old grandchild) who discovered how much fun it is to be Godzilla and destroy the towers. I can't wait to play with the blocks with our 13 month old Godson tomorrow. Thank you, Melissa and Doug! It's perfect.

Another winner all round

My 2 year old received these as a birthday present, but her 5.5 year old sister uses them just as much... and so does Dad!!! The colours are vivid and do not chip off that easily at all, as opposed to a lot of blocks we have used before. A couple of the darker shades have rubbed off on lighter ones, but that is just nit-picking! We love that they are lightweight and do not have sharp edges. As we all know, blocks are a tempting form of ammunition, and sharp, heavy blocks would cause a lot of harm if thrown. These would not. They are just the right weight to build giant towers without toppling at the slightest occasion. Again, the weight is important when a child decides to destroy a construction while barefoot. Toes and toenails do survive! Also, small children in nurseries all start wailing the second one child cries, so less pain = a calmer environment for all! We also like that some pieces are skinnier or odder shapes than normal. It allows for more creativity with the builds as some pieces lend themselves better to being walls and others allow for wonkier constructions.
