Each elegant MIYABI Koh knife is crafted in Seki, Japan. There, MIYABI artisans merge rich Japanese tradition with expert German engineering and state-of-the-art steels to produce these ultimate kitchen knives. Advanced FC61 fine carbide stainless steel - 61 hardness on the Rockwell scale - provides unsurpassed corrosion and chip resistance. This cutting-edge steel ensures the hand-honed blades retain their impressive sharpness for a long time. Thanks to an innovative, ice-hardened process, the FRIODURx2 blades offer remarkable durability, sharpness, and cutting performance. The stunning blades are finished with a true katana edge, homage to the samurai swords made in Seki centuries ago, and feature an embossed MIYABI logo. Stylishly stamped with a silver mosaic pin, the exquisite octagon-shaped handle feels as good as it looks. The Pakkawood handle supports both Western chopping and Asian rocking cuts - experience ergonomic perfection with each slice.

Superb

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Been using an over 30 year old knife that tended to tear up bread and this sliced like it was butter. I don’t know why I had not upgraded earlier

Beautiful craftsmanship

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love to bake bread and this knife makes them a joy to serve. The sharpness makes this knife stand out the most. Bread remains fluffy and intact with even the thinnest of slices.

Great knife

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works very well, elegant and precise. It has the same FC61 of the fancier bob kramer knives that I have! I love that

superior cutting

This is a great serrated knife. The handle has a unique design and is very comfortable to hold. The steel goes through a double hardening process making a durable and very sharp blade. The Japanese blade making techniques make a blade with a thin profile that is great for slicing bread, tomatoes, melon, citrus and anything else with a harder outside and softer interior. It gives thin straight cuts.

If you are looking for an entry level Japanese knife this is a good one to try. The Miyabi Koh, has a traditional Japanese looking handle that will actually fit comfortably in the right or left hand. Unlike a true D shaped handle, it will not roll for lefties. Although a bread knife is not typically Japanese, it fits nicely with the set.

This Miyabi Koh line is so beautiful. It is made from FC61 steel, so it will be durable and extremely sharp. The handle fits nicely in your hand too. This bread knife is great to have for any time of bread. It is one that not only works well, but is beautiful to look at too.
