Perfume gone bad!!!!!

I've been wearing only this perfume since it came out in 1988.However....this bottle of perfume does NOT smell like the usual Knowing perfume! It has an overly strong foul smell as if it was stored incorrectly or is extremely old. The color is also very dark quite unlike the other bottles of Knowing that I've purchased throughout the years. This must be an original bottle judging by the color and nose stinging odor that is NOT like the Knowing fragrance at all!!
