First time using! Loved it !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used sculpey three since I can remember. But I wanted to try and get into some character sculpting. I tried other kinds of clay but this was the best so far. Holds details really well and not too hard that you can’t work with it

Why does Sculpey firm break easily?

Nice to work before baking, holds shape well but brittle and snaps after curing so no good really and only available in grey, why no black??

Great Sculpting Clay

The Sculpey Firm was exactly what I needed for an armatured horse scupture. The firm clay held the muscle tone and was firm enough to use tools for details. Cut the clay in the shapes of muscles and tendons and lay them upon the armature. Softer clays do not perform well using this method.

The Firm clay is much softer than it used to be.

Sculpey seems to have changed the formula of Sculpey Firm as it is no longer as firm as it once was. It's still harder than the Original, but it doesn't live up to the "Firm" moniker, or my sculpting needs. I may need to find an alternative if this is a permanent change.
