For a traditional wet-shave experience, The Art of Shaving's Sandalwood Shaving Soap helps hydrate and soften beard hair for a close, comfortable shave. When used with a shaving brush and hot water, it produces a rich, foamy lather that helps protect the skin from irritation by improving razor glide and is formulated with a high concentration of glycerin, coconut acid and pure essential oils to leave your skin feeling smooth. The Art of Shaving's Sandalwood Shaving Soap is made with sandalwood essential oil from Western Australia's Gibson Desert, a remote region whose harsh climate is known to produce the highest-quality sandalwood. Lather disappears in less than 10seconds

I ordered the sandalwood shaving soap with a wooden bowl two weeks ago. I have use soaps from Taylor’s of old bond street, proraso, Phoenix accoutrement, artisans, and other artisans. I had the same issue other had when applying the lather to my face and it disappeared with in 5 seconds. Like others I tried adding water, add more soap to the brush and stirring up longer in the bowl. No luck. It’s the worst wet shaving soap I have ever used. For the price you think a/s would have a highend product, but, it’s complete garbage. I will say the sent is very nice. . I would not recommend anyone waste your money on this soap.

Change it back

Like many of the other 1 star reviews, bought this in January and have had the same results. The lather disappears before I even start shaving. I have to re lather in small sections just to get it to remain. I get a better lather from a regular bar of soap.

It used to be great

I have used this for years. It was excellent. However, with the most recent bar I used in January, the lather just disappears after it is applied on my face. I tried more water, less water, more stirring etc, but nothing works. Something has changed in the formula and I just threw it out.

Lather disappears in seconds

I bought the latest soap in December, and you have changed the formula. As soon as I lather up, it literally disappears as soon as I go to lather the other side of my face! What happened to your soap formula. Bad now.

Sandlewood and lavender.

I have been buy expensive European imports for years but when they were all on back order I decided to try AofS. I will only be ordering AofS in the future. It has a full creamy lather that allows the blade to glide over the skin smoothly leaving a smooth surface that smells wonderful.

I first got some AOS products as a gift from my children.It really is head and shoulders above anything else I ever used.My head and face feel great after shaving,not at all dry or irritated and the sandlewood scent is fantastic.Keep up the great work.

From Awesome to Awful

I used this product with great pleasure all through 2020. The most recent purchase (this month) was a huge disappointment. The shaving soap does not lather up correctly - just tiny bubbles that fade away on your skin in the time it takes to rinse the shaving brush. There's nothing left on my face BEFORE I start shaving.
