Delicious, Easy, Foolproof Recipes

Caro Chambers is a breath of fresh air. This book helps get dinner on the table in under 30 minutes, and often under 15 (truly!). She’s great about encouraging ingredient swaps and mentioning simple hacks to speed things up or add variety to your repertoire. I’ve made riffs on the Cheater Chicken Tinga Tostadas, Grilled Lemon Harissa Chicken & Zucchini, Peanutty Pork & Brussels, Saucy Eggs with Salty Olive Oil Bread, and Braised Fish with Tomato & Coconut Chickpeas, and all went over well with eaters of all ages. Caro understands how to maximize flavor while minimizing ingredients and extraneous labor, which is perfect for anyone looking to get dinner on the table quickly and economically.

Buy this if you aspire to cook…but you’re tired!

First, I should say I am guilty of aspirational cookbook buying…a lot! But, as a mom of two boys under 6 and a big job, cooking a complicated meal (or any meal, really) doesn’t come close to cracking the top 10 of my preferred activities at the end of the day so they all wind up collecting dust. WTC is a game CHANGER! I’ve been following Caro for a while and she is so relatable with kids the same ages as my own, I had a good feeling so I pre-ordered. This cookbook is 100% as advertised! Organizing the book by total cook time (all-in time including prep) is genius! I have already made several recipes from the variously timed sections (15, 30, 45 and 1 hr) and I can confidently say, not only has every one of them been easy to follow but the timing has been spot on. Every. Single. One. I love that there are riffs, swaps, learning points, and so many other little details that have made this cookbook a literal go-to! And bonus, my husband and both kids (even the 2 year old) have voted each one I’ve tried into the rotation. I honestly feel like this cookbook has given me so much more confidence in the kitchen and I actually look forward to trying out new WTC recipes! I have never been moved to review a cookbook but I feel like I have to share the good word about this cookbook!

Don't sleep on this cookbook

Caro makes it so easy to make delicious meals. Long time follower of her substack, and haven't met a meal that we didn't like. I love how easy to follow this format is, and how she teaches you to be a better cook in the process. The book was thoughtfully put together. It's the little touches like bolding the ingredients cheerleading you to make substitutions to your liking or simply for what you have on hand, how to bulk it up, and completely tailor to your liking. Her substack is worth a follow, but there's something so convenient about having recipes in print.

You will not only not want to stop looking at all the gorgeous dishes in here but this cookbook will live on your counter not the shelf because every recipe is do-able and calling your name. Worth Every Penny

I have been a subscriber to the What to Cook subscription for a few years. It is the best investment, and this cookbook is just filled with more delicious recipes. I have never made a Caro Chambers recipe that was anything short of amazingly delicious. You won't be disappointed!
