A new page-turning thriller from USA Today bestselling author David Bell. When a girl disappears, who do you suspect? When 17-year-old Hunter Gifford wakes in the hospital on the night of homecoming, he's shocked to learn he and his girlfriend, Chloe Summers, have been in a terrible car accident. Hunter has no memory of the crash, and his shock turns to horror when he is told Chloe's blood has been found in the car but she has disappeared. Back at school, his fellow students taunt him, and his former best friend starts making a true-crime documentary about the case one that points the finger directly at Hunter. And just when things can't get any worse, Chloe's mother stands in front of the entire town at a candlelight vigil and accuses Hunter of murder. Under mounting pressure from the police, Hunter takes matters into his own hands by questioning anyone who might know the truth and posting videos to prove his innocence. When Hunter learns he and Chloe were seen arguing loudly outside the dance, he faces a sickening possibility. Was he angry enough to kill the person he loved? Praise for David Bell-"David Bell is a top-notch storyteller and Layover is his best book yet. I flew through this twisty, riveting psychological thriller at breakneck speed, hooked from the first page right up through the book's breathless conclusion."

This was a great book! I could not put it down. Like always I thought I had everything figured out, I was so wrong. It took a few chapters to get into but it was a great story. Chapters are extremely short fyi

I highly recommend it, it's very interesting.

A book worthy of reading and a great mystery. Has good development of the theme and keeps the reader wanting to know more every second. The story is truly interesting always keeping the reader on edge to discover the truth. A great development of the main ideas and interesting crime. But it needs a better way to develop the change between chapter and better transitions.

Great Read! Kept me on my Toes

I received this advanced reading copy from Source Books Fire in exchange for an honest review. The minute I got the book, I could not put it down! The book was filled with enough suspense and mystery up until the end. Once you get going, it is hard to stop, and the ending is something you won't see coming. The book starts off with the main character, Hunter Gillford, making a video after waking up from a coma after being involved in a car accident with his girlfriend, Chloe. Plot twist.......Chloe's blood and some of her items were found in the car, but there was no Chloe, and Hunter has no remembrance of what happened. The author keeps the suspense going by proving the reader with mini-chapters. As the book rapidly comes to an end, the reader is provided with clues leading to the final conclusion that will stop you in your tracks. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, so if you enjoy suspense and thrillers, this will be something right up your alley!

Disappearance, videos, questioning…

4.0 Disappearance, videos, questioning… On homecoming night, Hunter and Chloe are in a car accident. Hunter wakes up in the hospital with no memory of the crash and learns that Chloe has disappeared. Hunter is under extreme stress from his peers st school, the community, and the repeated questioning by police. Hunter begins to question others, seeking to find the truth and to plug the holes in his memory . What happened to Chloe? Where is she? How did Hunter disregard Dad’s advice about “laying low?” * YA debut. * I saw the author at a live author event a few years ago. Enjoyable evening! I have since read all but one of his books!
