Fiesta44 oz. Teapot

Not great quality.

I have been collecting fiestaware for 35 years. While this new teapot is a lovely color, the glaze is subpar, with several unglazed spots and the lid does not fit well.

Better Than Granny’s Old “Brown Betty!”

This is a real tea lover’s teapot! Everything about this pot seems designed to enhance the experience of having tea. The thick-walled spheroidal 44-ounce tank set on a cleverly designed foot serves to keep the tea warm for a very long time. The spout is nearly drip-free, and the lid stays in place to the very last pour; just be sure the catch is pointed back toward the handle.

I know some feel that the ring handle is part of the wonderful look of Fiesta, and it can be, but in using the large teapot, the old ring handle was harder to lift comfortably, especially when the pot has just been filled with freshly boiled water and it's heavy and hot. So I have to say that the new handle is a wonderful improvement for the functionality of the teapot. This one feels so much better in your hand when you're serving. Bravo for that. Also, unlike some teapots I have that are not Fiesta, this pot shows no crazing or other damage to the outside, despite the fact that I repeatedly pour just boiled water into it. It's a keeper.

Teatime Perfected

This is the best teapot. The newly designed spout prevents a lot of unwanted dribbling, and the handle is so much easier to hold one handed to pour. The handle doesn’t get hot like the old one either. I have a few product suggestions that would make this the ultimate teapot: -needs to come in brown or foundry. Once you have a brown teapot, the tea stains will be less visible and it’ll be the end game, all you need forever teapot. The fact that fiestaware is dishwasher safe already makes this better than my fine china teapots. -fiesta needs to make tea cozies (or tea cozies). You need to offer two styles: one that completely covers the teapot and traps the steam inside, and another knitted ribbed one that has holes custom made for the handle and the spout. They could both be the dancing lady! Or have all the fiesta colors, or come in colors of the fiestaware. -a tea tray/platter. I’m using the square serving platter it’s not QUITE large enough. The sugar and creamer fit with the teapot but only without the sugar/creamer mini tray. I’d like a tea platter that has higher edges to keep things from rolling off, that fits the sugar and creamer tray set, and the teapot with a tea cozy on top. Getting these fantastic extras would make the fiestaware tea set the perfect American tea time. I look forward to what could be coming next!
