Should've read the reviews beforehand
As many reviewers already mentioned it doesn't remove eye makeup, especially, mascara at all. I did everything Origins said such as shaking the bottle or using it on dry skin and so on. Even if I used it very correctly it did nothing to remove my eye makeup. Additionally, as they said using it longer to take off mascara completely my eyes became burning & red. Wish I could have read the reviews in advance or returned for a refund. Now I know it's too late to return it so I have to discard it because it does nothing to me though it's not cheap at all. Terribly disappointed & sad.

Love this product once I knew how to use it
At first, I thought the product did not work for removing my wye makeup (mascera). Once I figured out I had to out it on my dry face and rub over my eyes until it dissolves, I fell in love and will only use this product to remove makeup! Please continue this one because it really works well.

A big no
Super disappointed. This does not remove eye makeup at all. My eye makeup isn't even waterproof. Eyes and face feel very tight after using it. Maybe for non makeup days. Won't waste my money again.

Hi Ruth! Thank you for sharing your experience. We want you to get the most out of your product. Be sure to shake the bottle to activate the cleanser. Massage over dry skin for roughly 30 seconds or so, add warm water, and continue to massage over the skin as the oily turns milky. Rinse with warm water. If your eye makeup doesn't remove easily, try cleansing a little longer. Our Guides are available to offer any additional tips and can also look into the possibility of a return. Not great and I wouldn't buy again
I had high hopes that this would match the oil cleanser they had a few years ago. But unfortunately this is a flop. It doesn't remove makeup well, and especially not eye makeup. It smells like chemicals and you have to use a ton to get even a small bit of makeup off. Kinda hate it and I'm stuck with 3 :(

We're disappointed to hear this, Lauren, and want to make sure you're using it correctly. Shake it well to activate the bi-phase formula and then massage onto DRY skin for 30 seconds to fully melt away dirt, debris, and even long-wear makeup. Next, add water onto the skin and enjoy the formula transformation from an oil texture into a milky bloom. Rinse off with water and pat dry for comfortably clean skin. If this is how you're using it, grab your order details and call us at 1-800-ORIGINS (674-4467) Option 1 or email our team at OriginsService@origins.com at and a member of our team will be in touch.

Did NOT remove mascara
I like the regular cleanser, but this was a disappointment. Even when used as part of a 2 step process, mascara was still under my eyes. I use very little mascara.

Welcome and thank you for your review of Checks and Balances Milky Oil Cleanser + Makeup Melter. We do recommend to shake well to activate. Then gently smooth onto dry face, lips and eyes, massaging for a few moments, especially for long-wearing makeup. Then add warm water and continue to massage until milky and rinse cleanly away. If these steps don't improve your experience with this cleanser, we invite you to connect with us via phone at 1-800-674-4467 or email at OriginsService@origins.com, so we can assist. We are standing by now!

Not sure it’s doing anything
I mean, I guess it’s doing something to cleanse my face. It just feels like I’m rubbing some oil on my face that quickly dissolves and then feels like nothing. It doesn’t dry my already dry skin, so that’s good.

This product is good, but not great.
I rarely write reviews on anything, but I happened to get a new email about this product, and I decided to read some of the reviews. I'm almost done with the bottle that I purchased. I was intrigued by the concept of it as I know that an oil based cleanser is the way to go. Several people talked about how they don't like to use it for removing eye make up. To me it's too oily to use on my eyes and a few times that I did it left a residue and took a while for my eyes to clear up. Instead, I use a normal eye maker remover first. Then I use this product to cleanse my face without using a second cleanser. It seems to work pretty well; whenever I use toner afterwards, there is never any residue from make up or anything else. I'm not sure I would buy it again though, I don't like it enough to replace Checks and Balances which is more soapy, and I feel gives me a better clean.

We appreciate your feedback, and the time you took to let us know your thoughts! We are happy to tell you that you do not need to choose between cleansers! The Double Cleansing method involves washing your face twice, with two different types of cleansers. The first step is the Milky Oil Cleanser + Makeup Melter, to help dissolve impurities, like makeup, oil, sunscreen and excess sebum. The second cleanse requires a water-based cleanser, such as Checks and Balances™ Frothy Face Wash, to whisk away any remaining residue and impurities for skin that's purified and refreshed. For cleansing tips, we invite you to chat with one of our US online Origins Skin Experts. To get started, click here: bit.ly/ORlivechat.

Missing Clean Energy
Having combination/dry skin, I am a fan of an oil based cleanser. I had used clean energy for the better part of 20 years and loved how clean my skin felt after using it and I loved the smell of it. I would have stocked up if I realized it was being discontinued. I had tried the checks and balances frothy face wash previously but I did not like the scent or how my skin felt tight after using so I tried this new checks and balances. I feel like it's s decent make up remover but my skin does not feel clean after using it. Begging you to bring back clean energy!
