Great features!

I'm pleasantly surprised by the look and layout of this NIV Boys' Bible. Everything is explained clearly, and includes diagrams, textual windows, applications, etc. A real stand-out is each book's description page. It reveals so much about the books' contents. E.g. who wrote it (if the author is known,) why the book was written, what occurs, what the reader can learn about God, key people included, when and where the book happened, and the stories covered in that particular book. This hardcover Bible is marketed to 8-12 year-old boys to promote digging deeper into God's Word. It contains the Old and New Testaments, a table of weights and measures, pages for notes, and much more. The text is easy on the eyes, and the wrenches, grommets, and metal-looking designs are fun for young readers. Two particularly unique features are the Through the Bible in a Year and The ABCs of Becoming a Christian sections in the back of the book. Through the Bible in a Year: This section provides a 15-minutes-a-day (approx.) reading plan to complete the entire Bible in one year. The reading days are numbered (rather than dated) so you can start any date of the year, with a text box allowing you to check off the days as you go. The ABCs of Becoming a Christian: The ABCs (Admit, Believe, and Confess) are briefly explained with supporting Scripture verses. The only thing missing is a presentation page for gift giving.
