quality is good but smells disgusting

The Hotel Collection 525 Thread Count Egyptian Cotton sheet set seems to be good quality. However, I was very surprised and disgusted by a terrible smell when I opened the package. It was quite offensive and makes me question Macy's storage practices. I had to wash the sheets thoroughly and use a significant amount of odor remover to get rid of it.

I have previously purchased these sheets and had a positive experience. However, after washing this particular set a few times, I have noticed that the material is beginning to deteriorate. This is not what I have come to expect from the Hotel Collection. Unfortunately, I must rate this product as poor due to what appears to be a quality issue with this batch.

Arrived damaged

Arrived damaged, rust stain likely caused from the metal zipper from the packaging. Returning was simple, but now I'm waiting for the replacement. Aside from the stain, they seemed like a quality product.
