I’ve been reading tarot for a year at this point and the entire time I was using free spreads on the internet. This was an impulse buy when buying a tarot deck recently. I thought there would be a lot of new spreads to try. I was surprised to realize that almost none of the types of spreads I use on a regular basis was in the book. For example in-depth chakra spreads. A lot of the spreads are oddly specific and clearly were put in to bulk up the book. The index actually isn’t accurate. For example, the chakra spread is on page 39, not 40 like the index says. The table of contents and index are not all that straightforward like you would expect. I had already started writing notes in the book, or I would have returned it. I also bought the hard cover, not realizing you can get the digital copy for less than half that price. The cover is pretty and I think it might be a cute novelty book to put on your coffee table and have like-minded friends sift through while drinking a glass of wine. Other than that, definitely just use free tarot spreads online. You can google exactly what you’re looking for and save some money and clutter in your home.

Lots of great options
I like all the spreads that are in this book. There are a wide variety to try. My one complaint is that several spreads are a circle or have cards placed in odd angles, but the book doesn't address which way is up so you can discern if you should read it as is or reversed. Or if that should be ignored altogether. I'll probably stay away from those spreads since it's not addressed, and a reversed card can make a big difference.
